Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to supervise an inspection center team, overseeing daily operations and driving lean manufacturing processes in a fast-paced environment. You will mentor leads, manage performance, and ensure adherence to standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes leadership, quality control, and cost management in a high-volume setting, with a focus on developing associates and maintaining safety and productivity targets.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in development and execution of strategic plans and objectives.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that fosters positive communication and team cohesion.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Manage production capacity levels for each line and assist with planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision and guidance to meet performance metrics.
• Engage the team to improve quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
