Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Production Engineer to join a Paarl-based manufacturing team. You will optimize lines, drive efficiency, and ensure consistent product quality on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate has a background in industrial or mechanical engineering and 2+ years in a similar role, with strong Lean and production planning skills to support continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in production/manufacturing engineering.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of production planning and control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work on shop floor under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks and efficiency improvements.
• Implement and refine production processes using Lean/Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and improve throughput.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for all production activities.
• Collaborate with production team to provide technical support and resolve operational challenges in real-time.
• Coordinate with QA to ensure products meet standards and specifications.
• Participate in design and implementation of new production equipment or process upgrades.
