Placements24 has an opportunity for a Production Chemical Engineer to manage and optimize chemical production processes at our client’s facility in Paarl. This on-site role involves working with production, maintenance, and quality teams to troubleshoot operations and drive efficiency.

The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering with 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of process equipment and control systems, and a commitment to safety and continuous

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering required.
3–5 years of experience in chemical plant operations or production support.
Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize chemical processes in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Oversee daily chemical production operations, ensuring adherence to schedules and quality standards.
Troubleshoot process upsets and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and product variability.
Monitor key process performance indicators and implement strategies for yield enhancement and cost reduction.
Collaborate with the engineering team on process modifications and equipment upgrades.
Ensure all operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Train and mentor plant operators on process operation and safety procedures.
