Job summary

The Marmon Group LLC is seeking a Lean Continuous Improvement Engineering Intern to support Lean deployment, evaluation, and implementation across Marmon Transportation Group facilities. The role focuses on promoting continuous improvement, coordinating Kaizen events, and coaching teams in Lean tools to achieve safety, quality, and cost goals.

Ideal candidates will have energy and initiative, CAD familiarity (SolidWorks/Fusion 360), and the ability to travel up to half of the time to other

Qualifications

• Lean/Automation experience preferred.
• CAD knowledge in SolidWorks or Fusion 360.
• Willing to travel 20–50% to other facilities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with local team to identify process gaps and implement improvements.
• Manage lean transformation activities at a plant.
• Collaborate with automation team to optimize processes before automation.
• Lead Value Stream Maps and Kaizen/Impact Events through all stages.
• Provide formal and informal training, coaching, and mentoring on Lean methods.
• Establish performance measures and report progress to plant leadership.
• Coordinate with site leadership on assessments and future state planning.
• Participate in regular Management Review meetings.
