Job summary

The Marmon Group LLC is seeking a Lean Continuous Improvement Engineering Co-op to support deployment, evaluation, and implementation of lean practices across Marmon Transportation Group. You will promote continuous improvement methods, lead Kaizen events, and collaborate with teams to improve safety, quality, and cost while developing leadership skills.

This is a multi-site role with travel between facilities.

Qualifications

Energy, enthusiasm, and initiative to create programs and drive outcomes.
Ability to travel 20-50% to other facilities/shops and be willing to relocate for multi-term co-ops.
Independent, self-starter with ability to build relationships and earn trust.
Ability to prioritize work based on impact, business needs, and schedules.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Smartsheets.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with local team to identify process gaps and implement improvements to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and development metrics.
Manage lean transformational activities and projects at a plant.
Collaborate with automation teams to optimize processes before automation and justify projects.
Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen/Impact Events through all stages, including pre-work and sustainment.
Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees to spread lean concepts and sustain improvements.
Develop personal and plant competency plans for continuous improvement methods.
