Job summary

Marmon Group LLC, part of Marmon Holdings and Berkshire Hathaway, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineering Co-op. You’ll support Lean deployment, evaluation, and implementation across the Marmon Transportation Group, promoting lean tools, root-cause analysis, and waste reduction while influencing colleagues at all levels.

You will collaborate with local teams to drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements, while coaching others in Lean methods and building sustainment across

Qualifications

• Energy, enthusiasm, and initiative to create programs and drive outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lead and influence others without formal control to achieve desired results.
• Willingness to travel 20-50% to other facilities/shops and relocate for co-op terms.
• Independent, self-starter with the ability to build relationships and earn trust.
• Ability to prioritize work based on potential impact, business needs, and schedules.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, SharePoint and Smartsheets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with local team to identify process gaps and implement process improvements.
• Manage lean transformation activities and projects at a plant.
• Collaborate with automation team to optimize processes before automation and build automation justification.
• Facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen/Impact Events through all stages.
