Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Raleigh, NC seeks an Operations Manager to lead manufacturing and distribution, driving Six Sigma-based improvements and optimizing OEE. You will analyze data to identify root causes of efficiency deficits and implement changes across all operations.

The role requires 5–10 years in pharma printing/manufacturing or equivalent and a high school diploma. You will mentor teams, manage budgets, and ensure GMP compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in a pharmaceutical printing or manufacturing environment.
• Detailed knowledge of the finishing process required.
• ISO and GMP experience preferred.
• Understanding of integration with core processes is critical.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of company initiatives and processes impacting operations.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead a team.
• Ability to mentor across shifts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Establishes priorities to operate all departmental activities efficiently.
• Assesses process needs to determine staffing for production goals.
• Works with maintenance on preventive maintenance programs.
• Establishes and maintains operational budgets.
• Evaluates operations and implements improvements to improve efficiency.
• Provides resource feedback to a General Manager.
• Backs up the Plant Manager and some Department Manager roles as needed.
• Promotes teamwork at all levels of the company.
• Complies with safety policies and PPE requirements.
• Willing to work flexible hours as needed.
• Ensures GMP compliance across departments.
