Benjamin Moore & Co is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee all raw materials and finished goods at the manufacturing site in Newark. You will coordinate inbound/outbound logistics, manage inventory, and drive improvements for safety, quality, and cost efficiency.

The role requires lean manufacturing experience, strong leadership, and the ability to interface daily with production and operations teams to resolve issues and optimize workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; experience in materials management and scheduling is expected.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant manufacturing or distribution experience.
  • Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office Suite preferred; experience in expediting and inventory management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Be a decision maker and problem solver for the site; maximize efficiency and manpower.
  • Supervise and provide assistance to department leads daily to support warehouse and production activities.
  • Manage a team of 5-15 personnel responsible for forklift operations, scheduling inbound/outbound trucks, cycle counts, and material orders.
  • Ensure safety, quality, and productivity; regularly audit team performance and adjust staffing as needed.
  • Write and update work instructions; participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects.
  • Maintain DOT and customs compliance; manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste per regulations.
