Job summary

Benjamin Moore & Co in Newark, NJ seeks an EHSS Manager to develop, implement, and manage environmental, health, safety, and security programs on site, ensuring regulatory compliance and a culture of safety.

The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement, lead investigations, manage audits, and collaborate with corporate EHSS and sustainability teams, with occasional travel to other company sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree or relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM, NEBOSH, LEED).
• Minimum 5–10 years of safety, environmental, engineering or related experience in a manufacturing, distribution and/or R&D center environment.
• Safety related professional certifications e.g. CSP, CIH, preferred.
• Experience leading projects and teams or committees is a must.
• Strong understanding of federal, state and local regulations.
• Highly collaborative spirit with strong team and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
• Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Flexibility to work outside of normal or routine work hours - if needed or as required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure EHSS policy compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Manage regulatory inspections, audits, and agency interactions.
• Develop and improve EHSS programs, procedures, and site-specific audit/inspection processes.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
• Lead EHSS training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Lead investigations of incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain EHSS records for leadership, regulatory submissions, and reporting.
• Manage environmental compliance programs and reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with corporate EHSS and sustainability teams.
• Oversee site security programs including audits, cameras, access control, and badge administration.
