Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Production Manager in Bolingbrook, IL to lead a designated value stream and a team of about 90 employees. You will drive lean initiatives, improve schedules, reduce waste, and oversee cost, quality and delivery targets.

You will partner with QA, Supply Chain and Planning to resolve issues and implement corrective actions. A strong background in engineering/manufacturing leadership and continuous improvement is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing required.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• 3-5 years in low volume/high mix engineered and built-to-order environment.
• Extensive knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, 5P or similar CI models.
• Proven initiative, problem solving, and ability to drive improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead designated value stream to meet schedules, reduce cycle times and inventory.
• Manage production team to meet daily output targets and value streams.
• Ensure orders are pulled and shipped per plant pull schedules with FIFO.
• Minimize shipping discrepancies and investigate cycle losses for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operational Excellence to set value stream priorities.
• Research new processes/equipment to improve throughput and productivity.
• Monitor production schedules and report delays to management.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain, QA and Planning on parts and quality issues.
• Support lean culture and mentor workforce of ~90 employees.
• Ensure quality and timely manufacture/delivery of customer orders.
• Foster environment encouraging employee involvement to meet productivity goals.
