Job summary

nVent's Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op in Anoka, Minnesota offers hands-on project management exposure, lean initiatives, and mentorship with senior engineers. You will learn manufacturing processes, assist with equipment moves, resolve quality issues, and analyze data to improve layouts and labor standards.

This paid hourly internship requires a Bachelor’s in progress with SolidWorks and AutoCAD skills, US work authorization, and prior internship experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology graduating between May 2028 and May 2029
• Previous work and/or internship experience
• Authorized to work in the United States without restrictions now or in the future
• Good project management and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with project management activities to support manufacturing
• Learn manufacturing processes to recommend and implement new solutions
• Assist with moves of production areas or equipment
• Work and resolve quality issues affecting product or manufacturing methods
• Provide input on production layouts utilizing lean tools and methods to eliminate waste
• Analyze and interpret data to make decisions on project implementation
• Work with operators, team leaders and value stream planners to optimize process center layouts and designs, incorporating material flow and line balancing
• Provide manufacturing cycle time readings to improve manufacturing routings and labor standards
• Support the promotion of lean culture in the organization by working with business areas to complete events and projects required to implement Future State Plans
• Learn and apply lean principles and tools for implementing creative solutions for system and process improvements
