Job summary

nVent’s Lean Internship in Blaine, MN invites you to apply lean principles in a real-world manufacturing environment. You will observe processes, document cycle times, identify value-added activities, and assist with improvement projects such as 5S and visual management.

The 12-week, full-time summer program offers mentorship and exposure to leadership within a global electrical solutions leader. Interns are paid $22 hourly and are responsible for transportation to and from work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Graduating between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Available for a 12-week full-time summer internship in Blaine, MN.
• Must have current work authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Observe processes, document cycle times, and identify value-added vs non-value-added activities.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives: 5S, visual management, shadow boards, workspace organization.
• Assist with operational improvement projects: tool shadow boards, labels, and material movement carts.
• Update and organize documents in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Partner with operations and support teams to implement improvements.
