Job summary

Morbark in Michigan is seeking an Industrial Engineer to define and improve manufacturing processes. This role operates with minimal supervision, preparing, conducting, and evaluating analyses for new or modified process designs.

You will lead problem-solving efforts across production methods, layout, tooling, and production flow in Pre-Production, Production, or Post-Production environments. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement lean process improvements throughout the organization.
• Collect, organize, and analyze technical data.
• Support engineering change implementation using JD Edwards and communicate requirements internally.
• Troubleshoot day-to-day process performance issues, develop solutions, and monitor improvements.
• Apply problem-solving methods to address safety, quality, and performance issues.
• Monitor and improve safety and ergonomics to reduce worker fatigue and injuries.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to implement automation, robotics, and digital tools.
• Validate process cycle times by conducting time studies.
• Maintain Bills of Material (BOM) and routings for product and process changes.
• Determine manufacturing time and cost of new assemblies; provide Production Managers with labor quotes.
• Advise and plan facility layout requirements to support business planning.
