Job summary

Egan Company in Champlin, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to bridge custom, high-mix/low-volume shop operations with field installations. You will standardize workflows, design flexible workstations, and leverage data to optimize panel shop, prefabrication, and active job sites.

Key responsibilities include documenting SOPs, developing scalable lines, and applying Lean/5S to reduce waste while collaborating with shop Supervisors, Project Managers, and Field Foremen.

Qualifications

• Experience applying lean/industrial engineering in custom job shop or related environment.
• Strong documentation, SOPs, and standard work development.
• Ability to design flexible workstation layouts for high-mix, low-volume tasks.
• Familiarity with ERP/MES/MRP systems and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

• Document standardized work across panel/pre-fabrication shops and field ops.
• Design flexible workstation layouts for high-mix custom builds.
• Develop KPIs and reporting for cycle time, waste, throughput, and labor.
• Assist in creating scalable production lines and procedure controls.
• Champion Lean/5S and collaborate with shop and field teams.
