Job summary

Gotion Inc. is seeking a Lean Engineer to drive operational excellence at our Manteno, IL facility, focusing on improving OEE, reducing downtime, and embedding a Lean culture on highly automated production lines.

The role requires hands-on Lean experience in manufacturing, working with production data, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment. You will lead cross-functional teams and Kaizen events to improve throughput and yield.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years of Lean/Continuous Improvement experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in EV battery, electronics, semiconductor, or high-volume automated manufacturing preferred.
• Solid knowledge of Lean principles, tools, and methodologies.
• Strong data analysis skills to translate production data into improvements.
• Proven execution and ownership mindset with multiple initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Analyze OEE data (Availability, Performance, Quality) from battery production lines.
• Identify top contributors to OEE loss including downtime and defects.
• Lead root cause analysis using Lean tools (A3, PDCA, 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto).
• Develop and sustain countermeasures to improve equipment reliability and yield.
• Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve line performance.
• Lead Lean improvement projects and Kaizen events for throughput and labor efficiency.
• Establish cross-functional Lean teams; promote employee participation in Kaizen.
• Ensure improvements are standardized and tracked through standard work and audits.
• Train and coach teams on Lean concepts (5S, Visual Management, flow.
