Job summary

Gotion Illinois New Energy Inc. seeks a highly motivated Machine Learning Engineer to design and build ML models for next‑gen battery and energy storage systems. This on‑site role is based in Manteno, IL and requires collaboration with cross‑disciplinary R&D teams.

You will prototype algorithms, evaluate models, and incorporate physical priors, focusing on materials, electrochemical systems, and high‑throughput data. A Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. in ML/CS/EE/Applied Math or related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in model development and optimization.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as PyTorch/TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement novel ML models for battery/energy domains.
• Prototype and evaluate state-of-the-art algorithms (Transformers, LLMs, hybrids).
• Conduct rigorous experiments, benchmarking, and ablation studies.
• Collaborate with battery scientists to incorporate physical priors into models.
• Document results and present to technical and leadership teams.
