Catholic Sports is a Denver-based, nationally growing young adult recreational sports outreach. Our mission is tobuild authentic community through recreational sports. “We define authentic community as one that fills the void of emotional and spiritual loneliness (Gen Z. 18-25 year-olds are the loneliest generation according to 2018 Cigna Health research) by living our core values (Hospitable Outreach, Catholic Orthodoxy & Vulnerable Intimacy) while remaining rooted in the teachings of the Catholic Church. Our recreational sports leagues allow players to enter this authentic community, through which they will be invited into our Bible Studies, so that they will grow in a personal relationship with Jesus.”

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be zealous for holiness, have a high Emotional Intelligence (EQ), be open to correction and able to balance many deadlines at once. They must have a high level of prudential judgment for phone and written communication skills. Candidates should embody the Catholic Sports values: hospitable outreach, integrity, and Catholic orthodoxy and the Catholic Sports mission/vision.

Position Summary

The Operations Manager will be a full-time position under the direction of the President of Catholic Sports. They will be in charge of all league host contractors, volunteers and personnel managing our leagues nationally. They will be the primary responsible person for creating and holding accountability for our systems for league operations, growing our league reach nationally by maintaining a great level of quality control, hiring contractors to host leagues, and making sure our league marketing and planning are successfully executed.

The successful candidate will office at the Catholic Sports headquarters in Englewood, CO. Travel will be required to visit leagues both locally and nationally (less than 5% likely) on occasion.

Position Requirements

· 100% Servant Leadership minded (all work should have eternal salvation at the forefront)

· A good Catholic theology formation and a passion for sharing the Catholic faith and Love for Jesus

· 2+ years of event/project planning work or league operations experience, demonstrating juggling of multiple deadlines and projects

· Familiarity with Google Drive, general marketing best practices, and excellent communication skills

· Ability to prepare and use a budget and excel spreadsheets for pricing leagues

· Confidence in leading groups/meetings

· Ability to review basic contracts and modify them for venue reservations and hiring contractors, along with a basic understanding of liability and insurance

· Leadership - Self-motivation and ambition and high interpersonal skills (High EQ)

· Ability to follow and create systems/processes for high consistency in operations and to train/delegate duties to others

Position Duties

· Recruit and retain league host contractors for the “Catholic Side Hustle”

· Train league host on the Catholic Sports ecosystem for successful league operations

· Manage all league registrations including registration setup, team formation, league and tournament schedules, and league communication via LeagueApps

· Maintain a pricing strategy for league sustainability and growth

· Book venues and referees

· Find local sponsors for leagues and manage their promotions

· Manage all league rules

· Update website marketing and communicate with marketing personnel to make sure marketing is timely and effective

· Supervise missionaries working to provide an unreasonably hospitable environment with their volunteer committees

· Maintain and plan the national operations plan

· Create and follow processes for a scalable growth of Catholic Sports leagues and work towards growing the department towards hiring direct reports to operate the systems created

Compensation

This position will be full-time salaried with full benefits. Compensation will be between $45-$65k, including bonuses
