Hertz Local Edition in Iowa City is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the end-to-end rental operation and develop leadership skills. You’ll gain hands-on experience in sales, customer service, and branch administration while preparing for future promotion to Branch Manager.

The role offers structured training, incentives, and a path to leadership within ~12–18 months. Must be 20+ with a valid license and flexible availability, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years old.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Customer service, sales, retail, hospitality, or other professional experience preferred.
• Strong communication, computer, multitasking, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Learn the rental car business through hands-on training in sales, customer service, operations, fleet logistics, and administration.
• Support branch sales goals by building customer relationships, identifying customer needs, and applying effective sales techniques.
• Deliver a positive customer experience by helping customers through the rental process and resolving questions or concerns professionally.
• Assist with daily branch operations, including fleet inventory, vehicle preparation, lot organization, documentation, and compliance tasks.
• Partner with branch leadership to understand scheduling, team communication, performance coaching, and business metrics.
• Build the skills needed to grow into future leadership opportunities within Hertz.
