Job description

Brief Position Overview

The Leadership Fellows Certificate Program seeks instructors with experience and/or capacities in the following areas: experiential instruction, lived leadership experience, leadership theory, innovative and best practices in teaching in a seminar, small classroom format (<20 students), leadership coaching, personal development, and working with learners in the young adult age group.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching on campus in a seminar class model or online courses
  • Advising, evaluating and assisting students
  • Design input in support of program and curriculum design and improvement
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Academic or professional experience in leadership.
  • Minimum master’s degree is needed to apply.
  • Experience in organizational leadership may also replace advanced degree on a case-to-case basis.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Demonstrated experience teaching interdisciplinary courses.
  • Ability to teach in small-group seminar model with an emphasis on practical and applied learning models.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of college student development.
  • Understanding of syllabus creation and usage in higher education.
The Successful Candidate Will
  • Work professionally and effectively with individuals and groups.
  • Possess effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Montana State University.
  • Have the ability to build and manage curriculum and grading in MSU’s CANVAS online teaching platform.
