Job summary

Job Summary — The Opportunity

Want to run a business, not analyze one from a distance? Our Leadership Development Program's experienced track is built for early-career professionals ready to own real outcomes, with a clear path to leadership.

In this role, you will be deployed wherever JM Test Systems has its most important problem: a division that has lost its operating rhythm, an acquisition that needs integrating, or a new service model that needs standing up. You'll own the outcome, not just the recommendation. Reporting to our VP of Corporate Development & Strategy, the program is designed to move you into a permanent role with real P&L ownership or measurable business impact within 12 to 18 months, such as division, rental, or lab management, or a corporate manager role in areas like analytics, continuous improvement, FP&A, or supply chain. Placement depends on performance, readiness, and available opportunities.

You'll thrive here if you've stayed through implementation before, build credibility quickly with people at every level, and are energized by ambiguity. Calibration experience is valuable but not required. This role is based in Baton Rouge, and relocation is required.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

• Own the problem. Deploy to the division, function, or initiative with the greatest need and take ownership of a defined problem from diagnosis through stabilization.
• Diagnose and execute. Assess unfamiliar operations quickly, separate symptoms from root causes, set priorities, and carry out the plan you build.
• Lead through influence. Lead technicians, supervisors, and functional partners you don't manage, and earn their trust fast.
• Drive strategic initiatives. Own or co-own acquisition integrations, system implementations, new locations, or new service models.
• Step up when needed. Take on interim or deputy leadership roles when critical positions open.
• Make change stick. Hand off sustainable ownership to the business so improvements last after you move on.
• Keep leadership informed. Provide clear executive updates on progress, risks, decisions, and results, and grow through regular development and readiness reviews.

What You Bring

• Required: Bachelor's degree and 1–4 years of post-graduate professional experience.
• Required: Strong analytical skills. You can build an analysis independently and defend it.
• Required: A track record of ownership, staying through implementation rather than stopping at the recommendation.
• Required: Comfort with ambiguity, incomplete information, and shifting priorities, and the ability to build credibility from the floor to the executive team.
• Required: Must relocate to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and be willing to travel extensively.
• Preferred: Experience as an investment banking or private equity analyst, a strategy or management consulting associate, in a rotational leadership program, or in operations or industrial-service leadership.
• Preferred: Exposure to industrial services, manufacturing, field services, or another complex operating environment.

Travel & Relocation

Travel is a defining part of this role. Please be prepared for:

• Required relocation to the Baton Rouge area
• Frequent travel to JM Test Systems locations and customer sites, including multi-week and occasionally multi-month assignments
• Regular time in calibration labs, customer facilities, and field and industrial environments
