The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium is seeking a Leader Front of House Catering (Part-time) to oversee daily food service operations, supervise Food Service Associates, and coordinate setup for events.

The role requires strong customer service, ability to multi-task outdoors, and flexibility for weekdays, weekends, evenings and holidays; overtime eligibility applies under FLSA. Must be 18+ and have a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• 1–2 years of food service supervision experience.
• Certification in food service sanitation a plus.
• Candidates must be able to take direction, work independently and multi-task.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are a plus.
• Must have the physical ability to work on your feet and be outdoors for several hours.
• The Toledo Zoo is a drug‑free workplace, including marijuana.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured through Zoo fleet carrier.
• Work schedules include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Leader Front of House Catering (Part-time)

Toledo Zoo & Aquarium

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. Come and be a part of an organization where you can work and have fun at the same time! Our Food Services team is currently seeking a Leader Front of House Catering.

Under limited supervision, you will lead and coordinate the activities and operations of food service areas, including the supervision of Food Service Associates in the preparation of food. This role involves assisting in the training and motivation of staff, developing training and recognition programs, and leading the set up and execution of daily and future events. You will prepare necessary equipment, complete event paperwork, monitor inventory needs, and ensure all sanitation standards are exceeded.

This position reports to the Food Service Managers, is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and eligible for overtime pay for hours worked over forty (40) in a work week.

Minimum Training & Qualifications:

• Must be 18+ years of age.
• Prefer 1-2 years of experience in food service supervision or an equivalent combination of culinary training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
• Certification in food service sanitation a plus.
• Candidates must be able to take direction, work independently and multi-task.
• Strong customer service and communication skills are a plus.
• Must have the physical ability to work on your feet andbe outdoorsfor several hours at a time.
