Job summary

SkyWater Technology, Inc. in Bloomington, MN is seeking a mature Yield Staff Engineer to lead integration of new semiconductor technologies into the fab and optimize yield and quality.

You will collaborate with process, device, and manufacturing teams to ensure a smooth transfer and ramp-up to production. The ideal candidate has 5+ years BS or 3 years MS in semiconductor yield, strong statistical analysis, and hands-on experience with 90nm/SOI tech is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS with 5 years, MS with 3 years, or PhD with 0-3 years semiconductor yield engineering experience.
• Proficient in semiconductor fabrication processes including photolithography, etch, deposition, and metrology.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis techniques and familiarity with yield modeling and simulation tools.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as JMP, Python, or R.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of strategies for integrating new semiconductor technologies into the fab environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and ramp-up to production.
• Design and execute experiments to characterize new processes and technologies and identify yield-limiting factors.
• Analyze yield data and perform root cause analysis to drive continuous yield improvement.
• Develop and maintain yield models to predict and optimize performance.
• Drive yield improvement projects with objectives, timelines, and milestones.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in yield analysis techniques.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and evaluate potential technologies for adoption.
• Work with suppliers and partners to evaluate new tools for the fab.
