Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Huntsville, AL seeks an experienced estimator for the xPL Offsite Manufacturing Facility to prepare detailed estimates from drawings and specs, coordinating with structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines.

You will develop bid packages, coordinate with vendors and suppliers, apply DFMA practices, manage documents, and help establish cost baselines while supporting schedule and logistics for a leading offsite manufacturing project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 3 years related experience.
• Experience in structural, mechanical, and/or electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, and trade practices.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules.
• Knowledge of estimating documents and ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of documents.
• DFMA knowledge and application to project requirements.
• Strong communication and collaboration with vendors, suppliers, and clients.
• Proficient in Excel and estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates based on project drawings and specifications.
• Develop bid packages and scope for vendors, suppliers, and third‑party integrators.
• Coordinate with xPL Offsite stakeholders to incorporate schedule, capacity/capabilities, logistics, delivery, and post‑delivery support.
• Lead document management for the project, including receiving drawings and specifications.
• Assist with defining the set‑up of estimate, estimate schedule, and responsibility matrix.
• Serve as liaison between vendors, suppliers, third‑party integrators, client, and xPL manufacturing facility.
• Coordinate with xPL Manufacturing and Procurement teams to obtain best‑in‑market pricing.
• Analyze cost data, unit prices, and commodities to develop standard information.
• Develop xPL value analysis studies evaluating schedule, cost, and labor benefits.
• Gain full comprehension of factors required for comprehensive xPL solutions scoping.
