Senior XPL Estimator — Offsite Construction

Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Huntsville, AL is seeking an experienced estimator for xPL Offsite projects. You will prepare detailed estimates across structural, electrical, and mechanical scopes and communicate bid packages to vendors and integrators.

You will coordinate with xPL stakeholders to ensure complete estimates, apply DFMA principles, and manage documentation, pricing, and supplier proposals. Limited travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years related experience or equivalent.
• Experience in structural, mechanical and/or electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems and trade practices.
• Ability to read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs and schedules.
• Strong analytical and quantitative analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Familiar with DFMA practices.
• Proficient with computers and estimating software.
• Limited travel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimate including quantity take-offs and analyses for identified xPL scopes.
• Collaborate with xPL team and stakeholders to define scope of work.
• Apply DFMA to understand project requirements for xPL manufacturing.
• Lead document management and distribute information to stakeholders.
• Assist with setup of estimate, schedule, and responsibility matrix.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and third-party integrators to define scope.
• Obtain best-in-market pricing and substitutions for materials.
• Analyze cost data and develop standard cost information for estimates.
• Develop value analysis studies evaluating schedule, cost and labor benefits.
• Gaining full comprehension of factors for comprehensive xPL scoping.
• Prepare scope requisitions and coordinate to close gaps and overlaps.
• Prepare comparison analysis with previous estimates.
• Evaluate vendor proposals and document for price leveling.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and integrators.
• Maintain pricing histories and cost databases.
• May supervise xPL team members.
• Other duties as assigned.
