Job summary

Stryker Corporation seeks an Academic Support Writing Specialist to coordinate college-wide writing support across modalities. This lead role develops tutoring programs, trains staff, and liaises with faculty to ensure high-quality writing instruction and student success.

The specialist mentors part-time staff, expands online and embedded tutoring, and reports outcomes. Occasional evenings/weekends and travel between campuses may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English or related field; teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities; capable of meeting deadlines.
• Ability to learn emerging technologies and adapt to flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tutoring services across campuses, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding part-time and peer tutors, and supervising staff.
• Serve as content-area expert in writing for students, tutors, and campus partners.
• Communicate with faculty and campus partners; expand online and in-person tutoring services.
• Assist in day-to-day operation of the Academic Support Center and OneDesk services.
• Maintain data collection, analysis, and reporting; collaborate with librarians.
• Coordinate training for tutors and staff; model tutoring best practices.
• Travel between Wye Mills and Cambridge campuses as needed.
