Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies (BHHC) in San Diego seeks a Claims Manager to lead indemnity claim units, develop Supervisors, and drive strategic initiatives focused on quality, customer experience, and financial performance.

You will leverage data and technology, ensure regulatory compliance, mentor staff, and collaborate with Claims, Underwriting, Legal, Finance, and HR to achieve business objectives. This is a hybrid role with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 8+ years relevant experience.
• California adjuster designation or ability to achieve within 9 months.
• 8+ years of workers compensation claims experience with at least 3 years supervisory.

Responsibilities

• Direct, lead, and develop indemnity claim teams through supervision of Claim Supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with statutes, regulations, case law, and company standards.
• Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements for quality and productivity.
• Oversee complex, high-exposure or litigated claims and risk management.
• Oversee reserving, settlements, and cost containment for claims.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and strategic process improvements.
• Manage escalated customer concerns and preserve key relationships.
