Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Lead subject matter expert for Workday Security, partnering with HR, IT, Audit and Compliance to define, maintain, and optimize the Workday security framework. The role focuses on design, governance, risk management, and ensuring access aligns with internal controls and data protection requirements.

This position is remote to support our global operations and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of Workday Security configuration experience.
• Hands-on Workday Security configuration in a complex business environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead SME for Workday Security strategy, design and support.
• Maintain Workday security configuration including domain and business process security policies.
• Lead scalable security models that protect confidential data while meeting business needs.
• Evaluate changes, assess risk, and ensure alignment with governance standards and duties.
• Configure security for new Workday functionality and organizational changes.
• Partner with HR, HR Ops, IT and Workday teams to ensure compliant security design.
• Provide guidance on least-privilege access and role design.
• Lead troubleshooting of security issues and access problems.
• Support Workday releases by assessing security impacts and testing updates.
• Lead security reviews for Workday projects and changes.
• Assist audits and compliance with security documentation and evidence.
