Job summary

Westmoreland County Community College is seeking a Head Coach/Women's Volleyball to lead the intercollegiate team for the Fall season. The role involves coordinating schedules, conducting tryouts, managing equipment, and ensuring player safety, conduct, and administration of tournaments.

The successful candidate will recruit players from the college and local high schools, supervise an assistant coach, and report scores and statistics to the athletic office and local media.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a related field desired.
• Recreation/physical education major preferred.
• Experience in volleyball coaching preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director/Athletics & Recreation with finalizing the volleyball schedule.
• Hold tryouts for team formation after August 1, but before the Fall season.
• Assist with ordering and distribution of volleyball equipment and uniforms.
• Conduct practice sessions approximately 1.5 hours each, weekly.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed while coaching.
• Distribute monies used by the team at away games and keep receipts.
• Serve as liaison between the Director/Athletics & Recreation and opposing teams.
• Provide guidance to the assistant coach.
• Ensure appropriate conduct at home and away games and during practices.
• Assist with organization and administration of WPCC and volleyball tournaments.
• Report game scores to the local newspaper and record game statistics.
