Job summary

Westmoreland County Community College seeks a Head Coach for Women's Volleyball to manage all aspects of the fall intercollegiate program. The role includes scheduling, tryouts, equipment management, and supervising practices and game operations.

The position requires coordinating with the Athletics & Recreation department and reporting game results and statistics, while recruiting players from campus and nearby high schools. This is a seasonal coaching assignment affiliated with WPCC athletics.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in a related field is desired.
• Recreation/physical education major preferred.
• Previous volleyball coaching experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist with finalizing the volleyball schedule.
• Hold tryouts for team formation after August 1, but before Fall season.
• Assist with ordering, distribution and collection of equipment and uniforms.
• Conduct a number of practice sessions weekly, ~1.5 hours each.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed while coaching.
• Distribute monies for away games and keep receipts.
• Serve as liaison between Athletics & Recreation and opposing teams.
• Provide guidance to the assistant coach.
• Ensure appropriate conduct at home and away games and practices.
• Assist with organization of WPCC tournaments hosted by the college.
• Report game scores to the local newspaper after each game.
• Record and report all game statistics to the athletic office.
• Recruit team members from the college and area high schools.
• Perform other head coaching duties as assigned.
