Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking an Operations Engineer – Well Interventions to lead engineering, planning, and execution of the growing heavy workover program in Houston, TX. The role involves refracs, recompletions, lateral cleanouts, and complex interventions, collaborating with Drilling, Completions, Production, Reservoir Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for field operations.
• Ability to develop and execute field operating programs.
• Excellent coordination with multidisciplinary teams and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, plan, and execute heavy workover and well intervention operations (refracs, recompletions, lateral cleanouts, re-entry, casing remediation).
• Evaluate proposed workover candidates for technical feasibility, risk, duration, and cost.
• Review historical well data and integrity issues to guide interventions.
• Develop detailed operating programs with controls, barriers, and contingencies.
• Develop AFE estimates, cost forecasts, and execution schedules; track performance.
• Lead pre-job planning, risk reviews, and readiness with teams and contractors.
• Provide on‑site engineering support and troubleshoot during field execution.
• Coordinate rigs, coiled tubing, snubbing, wireline, fracturing, fishing, and related services.
• Work with Supply Chain on vendor strategies and performance expectations.
• Develop standardized heavy workover engineering practices and templates.
• Lead post‑job reviews and capture lessons learned for future designs.
• Develop performance benchmarks (cost, days/well, NPT, AFE vs. actual).
• Maintain safety, well control, and capital efficiency focus.
