Job summary

Vibration Mountings and Controls Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder to set up, operate welding equipment, and lead a team to meet production standards. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, inspecting welds, and coordinating with the Shop Foreman.

The role requires hands-on welding across MIG/TIG/Stick processes. Candidates should have 2–3 years of welding experience in a machine shop, plus 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.

Qualifications

  • Basic math and strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of safety standards.
  • Willingness to be cross-trained.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs unassisted.
  • Works in a typical production environment; flexible for extra hours.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–3 years welding experience in a machine shop (preferred).
  • 1 year supervisory or lead experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

The Welder sets up and operates welding equipment, reviews drawings, and leads welders to ensure quality production standards are met.

  • Weld ferrous and non-ferrous materials (MIG/TIG/Stick)
  • Set up jobs, tools, and materials; fabricate jigs/fixtures as needed
  • Lead and train welders on quality and production methods
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Work independently to complete assignments and meet schedules
  • Perform inspections and quality checks
  • Communicate job status and support needs to the Shop Foreman
