Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Lead Construction Inspector for the Puget Sound Area to inspect water and wastewater pipeline and facilities projects. You will work independently in field offices, communicate issues, document conditions, and contribute to project progress meetings.

Under a Resident Engineer, you will review plans, perform QA inspections, and ensure compliance with contract requirements. Proficiency with Excel/Word/Outlook/Bluebeam is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of water/wastewater and/or facilities inspection and construction management.
• Knowledge of drainage and utility construction materials and testing methods.
• Experience with large multi-contractor projects.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and walk/climb on site.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve issues.
• Perform quality assurance inspections per contract plans and standards.
• Monitor contractor work to ensure proper methods, safety and quality.
• Review plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, and change orders for field applicability.
• Prepare and maintain inspection logs, daily reports, photos, and quantity records.
• Identify and document non-compliant work and track corrective actions.
• Attend pre-installation and construction meetings and use Excel/Word/Outlook/Bluebeam to summarize findings.
