City of Lakewood, CA is seeking a field crew leader to install, maintain and repair water services, mains, hydrants and meters. A current D2 Water Distribution Operator Certificate must be submitted with the application.

The role includes supervising a small crew, ensuring safety, performing customer service on water quality and conservation, and operating heavy equipment as needed. Responsibilities include collaboration with the Lead Worker, planning safe work areas, and performing data entry

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 3 years’ experience in water services, mains, hydrants and related equipment.
• College welding coursework helpful but not required.
• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
• D2 Water Distribution Operator Certificate required with application.

Responsabilités

• Lead a small crew and coordinate work projects with the Lead Worker.
• Plan safe work areas, traffic control, trenching, and safety programs.
• Install and repair water services, mains, hydrants and meters; read and replace meters.
• Conduct water quality sampling and inspections; respond to inquiries and locate leaks.
• Operate backhoes, trucks, forklifts and other equipment; perform data entry on devices.
