Job summary

City of Hemet is seeking a knowledgeable Lead Water Distribution Systems Operator to provide lead direction and technical guidance for the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the City’s water distribution systems. The role involves leading crews, scheduling tasks, and ensuring compliance with policies and city ordinances.

The successful candidate will oversee equipment operation, respond to emergencies, and prepare reports for the supervisor while maintaining high customer service

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in construction, maintenance, repair and operation of water systems or equivalent.
• CA Driver's License Class A or B with Tanker Endorsement is required.
• Grade II Water Distribution Certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff in the operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of water distribution systems.
• Develop and implement crew assignments and supervise work activities.
• Inspect work quality and methods; conduct safety and training meetings; participate in evaluations.
