Job summary

City of Oxnard is seeking a Wastewater Electrical Supervisor to lead Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and SCADA teams across the wastewater facility and lift stations. This role reports to the Wastewater Maintenance Manager and emphasizes reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

The candidate will direct maintenance planning, oversee troubleshooting of electrical distribution, MCCs, switchgear, VFDs, motors, and generators, and coordinate with Operations, Engineering, IT, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 7 years electrical maintenance experience in a treatment plant, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• CA Driver’s License required; CWEA Grade II Electrical Instrumentation Technician Certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), and SCADA teams maintaining the wastewater facility, lift stations, and related sites.
• Plan, prioritize, assign, and review maintenance to keep electrical and SCADA systems reliable.
• Provide oversight for PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, process control, and related automation.
• Direct emergency response for electrical/I&C/SCADA systems, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs; manage budgets and expenditures.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Seven (7) years of treatment plant electrical maintenance experience (including 2 years supervisory)
