Job summary

City of Oxnard’s Wastewater Division is seeking a Wastewater Electrical Supervisor to lead Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and SCADA teams responsible for maintaining the wastewater treatment facility, collection system lift stations, and related infrastructure.

The role provides leadership, coordinates maintenance activities, and drives reliability, safety, and performance across departments. Strong supervisory experience and CWEA certification readiness within 12 months are valued.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of treatment plant maintenance electrical experience, including 2 years of supervisory.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Grade II Electrical Instrumentation Technician Certification within twelve months of hire.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Electrical, I&C, and SCADA teams maintaining wastewater facilities and lift stations.
• Plan, prioritize, assign, and review maintenance to keep systems reliable and operational.
• Provide technical direction for troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Oversee PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, process control, telemetry, and automation systems.
• Direct emergency response activities for electrical, I&C, SCADA, and backup power systems.
• Develop preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs and review asset information.
• Coordinate construction, capital projects, equipment replacements, and system upgrades.
• Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, IT, contractors, vendors on technical needs.
• Oversee procurement of materials and manage budgets for the programs.
• Maintain and use the City's EAM system for work orders and asset history.
