Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager for our Waste Management Practice.

You will lead projects from planning through final certification, working with a seasoned team to solve problems, optimize performance, and meet client needs. You will manage project teams, budgets, and schedules, and review technical reports, drawings, and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Professional Engineering License (P.E.) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and client coordination.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working with regulatory agencies, contractors, and clients preferred.
• Desire to learn, grow professionally, and apply new skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects through all phases of development, from planning and design through permitting, construction administration, and final certification.
• Lead project teams to be responsible for calculating airspace and earthwork volumes; preparing and reviewing technical reports; designing stormwater management systems, leachate management systems, and landfill gas collection systems; performing geotechnical analyses.
• Prepare and review landfill grading plans, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
• Develop proposals, prepare project budgets and schedules, manage engineering staff, and perform quality control reviews.
• Interact with clients, contractors, and state regulatory officials to lead all phases of project execution including planning, design, regulatory approvals, and construction administration.
• Mentor staff and support career development through performance reviews and coaching.
