Job summary

Portmeirion Group in Waterbury, CT is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our homeware distribution center. You will oversee receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control, and ensure on-time fulfillment across wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of WMS systems, and experience with direct-to-consumer and Amazon Seller Central fulfillment. Availability for second shift and occasional Saturdays is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution center operations.
• Direct-to-consumer fulfillment operations experience.
• Strong working knowledge of WMS systems.
• Experience supporting Amazon fulfillment (Seller Central, FBA/FBM, compliance) a plus.
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on, in-office environment.
• Availability to manage the 2nd shift from mid-November through year-end.
• Must be able to work occasional Saturday during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Manage all daily operations of the distribution center, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
• Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders, meeting service level expectations.
• Lead, train, and supervise warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee workflow planning, labor scheduling, and productivity optimization.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Utilize and optimize WMS systems to support efficient operations and reporting.
• Collaborate with customer service, sales, and transportation partners to resolve order issues and improve delivery performance.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and operational best practices.
• Additional duties as assigned.
