Position Summary: Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install HVAC and related equipment as assigned. Coordinate specific agreements or projects to ensure contractual commitments are met in a timely, cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Use expert technical and troubleshooting knowledge to assist other service representatives in solving problems.
- Demonstrate capability and interest in training others, including training service technicians and trainees.
- Teach technicians how to solve problems independently, keep technical knowledge up-to-date, and decide when to repair or replace equipment.
- Search manuals and online sources; participate in technical organizations to enhance knowledge.
- Handle a heavy workload of calls, systematically question customers, and follow troubleshooting guides to find faults efficiently.
- Ensure job completeness by checking systems thoroughly, including safety controls, before leaving the site.
- Seek help for unsolvable problems and use proper tools and instruments for troubleshooting.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing reassurance, explaining causes and remedies, and instructing on proper system use.
- Determine job priorities, adhere to schedules, and handle interruptions professionally.
- Complete paperwork accurately, obtain customer signatures, and keep management informed of relevant issues.
- Modify instructions for clarity, instruct customers to handle emergencies, and recognize teaching opportunities.
- Provide qualified leads to sales, inform about competitive efforts, and support project pricing and special projects as assigned.
- Supervise smaller work groups when the supervisor is present, and report performance issues accordingly.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Meet all requirements for working in specific ATS environments, including a ten-year work history if available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Customer Service Experience
- One year of lead or supervisory experience
- Two years of commercial HVAC experience
