Job summary

Eskaton, a nonprofit leader in aging in Northern California, seeks a dining services team member to supervise wait staff and maintain a clean, efficient dining room. You will take orders, train new employees, and support the Food Service Director in administrative tasks while upholding safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

The role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and adherence to regulations, with starting pay between $18.15 and $21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred.
• A minimum of one (1) year work experience in food service operations.
• California Food Handler.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises wait staff.
• Busses and resets tables as needed; ensures dining room is clean and reset to standard prior to next meal.
• Takes meal orders in an accurate and courteous manner, providing prompt service to fill orders and requests.
• Assists in the orientation of all new employees including on-the-job training, adherence to policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations.
• Assists the Food Service Director in other administrative activities as directed by Management.
• Maintains standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the food services department.
• Monitors and ensures completion wait staff opening and closing duties.
• Keeps supervisor and cook(s) informed of questions, comments and/or complaints; resolves issues in a timely manner.
• Familiar with food service disaster plan.
