Job summary

Eskaton, a nonprofit leader in aging in Northern California, is seeking a dedicated Food Service team member. You will supervise dining room staff, take orders, ensure timely service, and maintain clean, safe dining areas for residents and guests.

Starting pay ranges from $18.15 to $21.00 per hour, with opportunities for growth. A California Food Handler certification and at least one year of food service experience are required, along with a team‑oriented approach to resident care.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervises wait staff.
• Busses and resets tables as needed. Ensures dining room is clean and reset to standard prior to next meal.
• Takes meal orders in an accurate and courteous manner, providing prompt service to fill orders and requests.
• Assists in the orientation of all new employees including: on-the-job training, adherence to policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations.
• Assists the Food Service Director in other administrative activities as directed by Management.
• Maintains standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the food services department. Ensures that appropriate levels of coverage are maintained at all times.
• Monitors and ensures completion wait staff opening and closing duties.
• Keeps supervisor and cook(s) informed of questions, comments and/or complaints. Diligently works to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Familiar with food service disaster plan.
