Job summary

Eskaton is seeking a dining services team member in Pleasanton, CA. The role involves supervising wait staff, taking orders, and supporting the Food Service Director with administrative tasks.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety and cleanliness and ensuring proper staffing levels. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and a California Food Handler certification, with at least 1 year in food service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Food Service Director in administrative activities as directed.
  • Maintain safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in food services; ensure adequate staffing.
  • Monitor and ensure completion of opening/closing duties by wait staff.
  • Communicate with supervisor and cooks; resolve issues promptly.
  • Be familiar with the food service disaster plan.

Essential Job Functions
  • Directly supervises wait staff.
  • Busses and resets tables as needed. Ensures dining room is clean and reset to standard prior to next meal.
  • Takes meal orders in an accurate and courteous manner, providing prompt service to fill orders and requests.
  • Assists in the orientation of all new employees including: on-the-job training, adherence to policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulations.
  • Assists the Food Service Director in other administrative activities as directed by Management.
  • Maintains standards of safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in the food services department. Ensures that appropriate levels of coverage are maintained at all times. Informs supervisor of staffing/scheduling needs.
  • Monitors and ensures completion wait staff opening and closing duties.
  • Keeps supervisor and cook(s) informed of questions, comments and/or complaints. Diligently works to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Familiar with food service disaster plan.

Starting Pay

Starting pay ranges from $20.87 per hour - $25.42 per hour. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.

Qualifications
Education

High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D., preferred.

Training And Experience

A minimum of one (1) year work experience in food service operations.

California Food Handler.

Knowledge And Abilities

Ability to understand and work harmoniously with residents, staff and healthcare professionals. Ability to maintain high professional and ethical standards. Computer knowledge is helpful but not required.

Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
