Job summary

Voyager Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Chief Engineer for VTVL systems in a Pittsburgh-based role with potential sites in Mojave or Edwards, CA. This leader guides end-to-end mission success by managing multidisciplinary teams and aligning technical execution with budget and schedule.

You will own vehicle architecture and margins, resolve design debates, and drive development from concept to flight readiness while coordinating with manufacturing, test, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with 15+ years of experience.
• Experience as technical lead of a major component or vehicle for a complex spacecraft or similar system.
• Experience adjudicating complex technical trade-offs and leading OR participating in Engineering Review Boards.
• Deep understanding of managing system architecture products, requirements, and risk.
• Familiar with translating customer needs and CONOPS into engineering design.

Responsibilities

• Own vehicle technical architecture, design philosophy, requirements, interfaces, margins and performance allocations.
• Serve as senior technical authority for design decisions, waivers, risks and readiness, resolving cross-functional disagreements.
• Lead vehicle-level design and development from concept through qualification, flight test, and deployment.
• Own vehicle performance and margins (mass, CG, propellant, delta-V, thrust-to-weight, margins, power, comms).
• Define development, qualification and flight-test approach to retire risk.
• Establish design standards and engineering rigor with the Lunar Systems Chief Engineer, tailoring to risk posture.
• Partner with manufacturing, test and operations to ensure manufacturability, testability, and operability.
