Job summary

The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is seeking a Supervisor, Visual Merchandising to direct and support visual presentation strategies across the retail spaces in Exposition Park, Los Angeles. You will ensure displays, signage, and merchandising standards are executed with creativity and consistency to create an engaging guest experience.

You will lead floor sets, train staff, and collaborate with Retail and Customer Experience teams to drive sales and storytelling through retail presentation.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail display, or store presentation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, including floor sets, product placement, signage, and storytelling through retail presentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute merchandising plans, promotional displays, and seasonal changes with accuracy and creativity.
  • Experience directing, training, and coaching associates on visual standards, floor set execution, replenishment, and presentation upkeep.
  • Ability to organize priorities, respond to shifting business needs, and maintain visual standards in a fast-paced, public-facing retail environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and work effectively across Retail, Operations, and Customer Experience teams.
  • Proficiency with retail technology, POS systems, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, engaging retail experiences that support the museum’s mission, brand, and visual storytelling goals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute visual merchandising standards, floor sets, and product displays to create an engaging and cohesive retail experience.
  • Ensure the sales floor is visually compelling, organized, and aligned with brand and seasonal merchandising strategies.
  • Support the development and implementation of merchandising plans that drive customer engagement and sales performance.
  • Monitor visual presentation, product placement, and inventory flow to maximize space productivity and product visibility.
  • Train and coach associates on merchandising standards, product presentation, and visual upkeep expectations.
  • Support associates during floor changes, replenishment, product moves, and visual resets, as directed by the Retail Manager and/or Assistant Manager of Visual Merchandising.
  • Collaborate with retail operations to support replenishment and efficient execution of floor changes.
  • Work closely with customer experience teams to ensure visual presentation enhances the overall guest journey.
  • Analyze sales trends and customer behavior to identify merchandising opportunities and improve product storytelling.
  • Maintain cleanliness, fixture organization, signage accuracy, and visual consistency throughout the store.
