Job summary

Insight Global in Indianapolis seeks a Virtual Construction Manager to lead VDC/BIM efforts from preconstruction through project completion on large-scale commercial projects, helping teams identify design and constructability issues before field work.

You will coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors, drive collaboration, conduct clash detection, and mentor the growing VDC team while advancing construction technology in the local market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of BIM/VDC or construction technology in a commercial construction environment.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks Manage, and/or SketchUp.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience identifying constructability risks and resolving coordination issues.
• Experience collaborating with field teams, project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors.
• Associate's degree or higher in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM and VDC processes from preconstruction through project completion
• Manage and coordinate project models across multiple disciplines
• Facilitate coordination meetings with internal teams and trade partners
• Perform clash detection and constructability reviews using digital models
• Support estimating teams with model-based quantity takeoffs
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and field teams
• Maintain model quality control and project BIM standards
• Export layout points and support field construction operations
• Assist with reality capture, point cloud, and emerging construction technology workflows
• Train project teams on BIM/VDC tools, processes, and best practices
• Contribute to the development and implementation of VDC standards and procedures
• Mentor junior team members as the VDC function continues to grow
