Job summary

SciTech Services, Inc. seeks a Veterinary Technician III experienced in biomedical research to ensure the health and well-being of laboratory animals and to oversee and train the veterinary technician team. This full-time position is located in Edgewood, MD, with a competitive hourly pay range.

Requirements include a high school diploma, LAT certification, and at least three years of experience in research animal veterinary care, plus knowledge of applicable regulations and AAALAC accreditation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• LAT certification required.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily oversight and training to veterinary technician team.
• Care for various animal species including NHP, rodents, rabbits, swine, ferrets, and guinea pigs.
• Perform daily and weekly health checks; maintain EMRs and treatment plans.
• Prepare diets, administer simple treatments, and assist with anesthesia.
