Job summary

Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor to lead and mentor the Companion Animal Clinic's primary care technician team. You will oversee patient care, doctor support, and client communication while promoting a positive team culture.

You will develop staffing plans, conduct evaluations, train new hires, and collaborate with faculty to support veterinary student education and clinical skills in a primary care setting.

Qualifications

• 8 years minimum experience in an animal hospital or veterinary clinic.
• CVT certification from the State of Arizona is required.
• Minimum 3 years in a team lead or supervisory role preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train the primary care technician team and supervise daily workflow.
• Assist in patient care and treatments as directed by workflow or doctor’s orders.
• Develop staffing schedules for the technician team and assign tasks.
• Oversee daily operations and adjust to meet patient and staffing needs.
• Conduct regular check-ins and provide constructive feedback to staff.
• Coordinate with HR on approved leave requests and manage timecards.
• Assist in interviewing and hiring new technicians.
• Train and mentor new hires in clinical skills and university culture.
