Midwestern University’s Companion Animal Clinic in Glendale, AZ seeks a Specialty Care Veterinary Technician to support advanced care for outpatient and hospitalized patients. You will assist with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, and complex procedures while mentoring veterinary students in a teaching environment.

The role emphasizes clinical excellence, critical thinking, and client communication, with hours typically 1:30PM–12:00AM four days a week, in a dynamic teaching hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CVT preferred; progressional certification valued.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience in general practice or specialty setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with physical exams, advanced diagnostics, treatments and specialty procedures.
• Monitor critically ill patients and manage anesthesia for high-risk cases.
• Develop nursing care plans and coordinate care across services.
• Communicate with clients, students and colleagues during high-stress situations.
• Mentor students and junior staff, and participate in rounds and teaching.
• Maintain medical records and hospital inventory.
