Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products is seeking a skilled Recall Services engineer to review safety investigations, assess root causes, and coordinate recall remedies. You will analyze procedures, CAD data, and parts, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define required materials and repair operations.

The role includes leading multiple recall activities, coordinating labs and vehicle inspections, and documenting progress.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on automotive diagnostic/repair experience in a dealership, fleet, OEM, or independent shop.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Automotive Technology or related technical field from an accredited university.
• 5–8 years OEM automotive experience in service engineering, vehicle development or related technical discipline.
• Preferred 2–5 years experience with systems, processes, products, or service/engineering operations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ownership and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Review safety investigations to interpret root cause, scope, and complexity of vehicle issues and remedies.
• Conduct Recall Service analysis including procedures, reports, CAD, tools, and parts inspection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define remedy, parts, materials, and repair operations.
• Coordinate and lead multiple safety recall activities ensuring accuracy, quality and timeliness.
• Coordinate labs, tools, vehicles, and parts for remedy trial removal/install events and inspections.
• Participate in lab events as lead or support and document next steps and outcomes.
• Track milestones, identify risks, provide status updates, and follow through on actions.
• Backup Advanced Service Methods Manager: chair meetings, maintain logs, schedule tasks, monitor investigations.
