Job summary

General Motors Africa & Middle East is seeking a Compartment Integration Design Engineer in Warren, Michigan. The role integrates engineering requirements across Architecture, Studio, SMT, Performance, and Manufacturing early in vehicle development to create innovative packaging solutions that balance design intent with feasibility and program imperatives.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in automotive engineering and strong system-thinking ability, with proficiency in Siemens NX and DFSS

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Incorporate Voice of the Customer insights into package design.
Develop, refine, and finalize engineering criteria with design/engineering partners.
Lead creation of integrated technical solutions that resolve packaging issues while preserving design intent.
Apply DFSS to drive robust design development and manage tradeoffs across cost, mass, timing, and assembly.
Integrate regional and global requirements and develop alternatives that meet brand and market needs.
Communicate proactively with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.
Ensure models align with customer-facing targets (spaciousness, visibility, storage, cargo, access).
Lead cross-functional surface and integration forums and drive issue resolution.
